Most plants do not have a scrap problem. They have a scrap record-keeping problem: a weighbridge slip in one drawer, a WhatsApp photo of a truck on somebody’s phone, a stock figure in a spreadsheet that nobody can tie back to either. By the time anyone asks a hard question — where did those eleven tonnes go, who approved that disposal, why does the ledger say one thing and the yard say another — the evidence has scattered.
Enterprise Management is the system that stops that happening. It is not a reporting layer bolted on top of the paperwork; it is where the paperwork is made. The material master, the gate slip, the approval, the auction, the invoice and the audit trail are one chain, so any number on the stock page can be walked back to a photograph of a truck. It is running a manufacturing client’s entire scrap operation today.
Material catalogue
Every material carries its HSN code and exactly one unit — kilogram, tonne, piece or litre — fixed on the master and pinned onto every movement, so nobody can book a tonne where the ledger expects a kilo. A separate HSN catalogue holds the scrap codes with their tax rate.
Inward, outward, transfer
One ledger, three movement types, and the type is fixed at creation — it cannot be quietly edited afterwards. Each line carries the vehicle, driver, recipient, party, e-way bill, source and destination, rate and value, and keeps the real-world movement date separate from the system timestamp it was recorded at.
Proof on the record
A gate slip and a vehicle photograph on the movement itself, plus a photo gallery and video clips of up to 50 MB. Files are checked for what they actually are rather than what the browser claims, and served through an access-controlled endpoint rather than a public link anyone could forward.
Melting proof
For material that must be destroyed rather than resold, furnace photographs and video evidence that a dispatched load was actually melted. Where the file carries its own capture time, that time is read from the file and marked as evidence — distinct from a time somebody typed in.
Daily stock, built from the ledger
Opening, inward, outward, auction-committed, invoiced and closing for every material, every day. Day one opens at zero, so every kilo on the page has an inward document behind it rather than an assumed starting balance. Negative stock is flagged, and a missed nightly run heals itself instead of losing a day.
Disposal workflow
Raise, approve, send to auction — with the three roles held by different people. Whoever raises a disposal is not whoever approves it, and neither is whoever turns it into an auction. Each hand-off emails the next set of people, and approved lots carry on into the auction module’s own multi-level sign-off on the winning bid.
Auction cycles
Rate windows rather than one-off sales: quarterly for contracted material, monthly for LME-linked metals. When a material accumulates past the threshold you set for it, it is flagged ready to auction. Closing quantity carries into the next cycle’s opening exactly once, in order, with a note saying where it came from.
Invoices and challans
An outward movement raises a draft tax invoice already filled in — buyer, HSN, quantity, unit, rate, vehicle, e-way bill. Numbers come from a financial-year series and are allocated when the document is issued, not when the draft is opened, so an abandoned draft never burns a number out of the statutory sequence. Rule 55 delivery challans are handled as their own document type, and both print as PDFs.
Yard and site views
Dated photo sets of the yard itself, organised by plant and by area, so what a site looked like on a given day is a record rather than a memory. Entries can be tagged to a material and pulled up alongside its movements and auctions.
Underneath all of it sits the change log. Every edit to a material or a movement is stored with its before and after values, who made it, when, and from which IP address. Separately, every administrative action is written to an audit log with passwords and keys stripped out before storage and a fixed retention window. Permissions are granular rather than all-or-nothing — view and manage are separate rights on each part of the system, and anything not explicitly granted is denied.

AI material recognition and certification — so a grade is a fact, not an opinion.
Most scrap disputes come down to one question that nobody can answer after the fact: what was actually on the truck? ScrapAssure answers it at the point of pickup and then seals the answer so it cannot be quietly revised later.
- Photograph the lotUpload one to five photos of the same lot from different distances and angles. The AI identifies the material and returns a grade with a confidence figure, which is carried onto the certificate. You can name the source facility — galvanising plant, melting shop, foundry, non-ferrous smelter, dismantling yard — to narrow the AI down.
- Lock the composition with XRFWhere XRF is performed, readings are imported straight from the instrument over USB, serial or wireless. Typing values in by hand is not permitted, and a lot that skips XRF is marked “Not Verified” on its certificate rather than quietly passing.
- Record the lot and the custodyGenerator, facility and GSTIN; gross, tare and net weight with the weighbridge ID; pickup date, vehicle, driver and destination yard; XRF operator, instrument serial and last calibration date.
- Issue the certificateEvery certificate is written into an append-only register and sealed with a SHA-256 hash. Each one commits to the certificate before it, so altering an old record breaks that record and every certificate issued after it.
The check runs the other way too. Anyone holding a certificate ID — in the format
SA-YYYYMMDD-NNNN, printed on the certificate and on the lot paperwork — can
enter it at scrapverify.com with no sign-in. The register
recomputes the SHA-256 from the stored record rather than trusting a saved “valid”
flag, so if one character of the contents changed, the seal no longer matches. That is what makes
the register tamper-evident rather than merely a list.
Certificates also carry the fields your downstream paperwork needs: escrow reference, CBAM status, EPR category and brand-protection status.

There is no self-service dashboard you can sign into today. The groundwork is already in place, which is why this is a solution line and not an aspiration. Every ScrapAssure certificate we issue today carries a CBAM status field — domestic, EU export chain, or pending — and an EPR category covering battery waste, e-waste and plastic waste. Those fields are captured at the point of pickup, sealed into the hash chain with the rest of the lot record, and independently checkable afterwards.
That matters because the hard part of both regimes is not the return itself — it is being able to show, lot by lot, where a material came from, what it was, who moved it and when. That evidence is being collected now, on live lots, so it exists when the reporting layer opens.
Escrow Services
Bank-rail settlement, so the money is confirmed before the material moves.
Every buyer on the platform gets their own Virtual Account Number issued through IndusInd Bank. Money paid into that account is matched to the buyer automatically and credited to their ScrapCart wallet within minutes — no screenshots of transfers, no manual reconciliation, no waiting on somebody to confirm receipt.
That wallet balance is what backs the platform’s money movements: earnest money is locked against it when a buyer bids, released if they lose, and drawn down when they win, and the same balance can settle an invoice. The rails have been live and verified with real bank payments since July 2026.
And the demand side
None of the above is worth much without buyers. The same platform runs the marketplace those four lines feed into, so a lot can move from a disposal approval to a settled invoice without leaving the system.
A lot can be sold three ways. An open auction runs forward or reverse, and can be priced against the London Metal Exchange — bidders quote a percentage of the LME spot rather than a flat rupee figure, so the price tracks the market between the bid and the settlement. A tender is genuinely sealed: bid amounts stay masked from competing bidders and from the seller’s own team for the duration, so nobody on either side can tip anybody off mid-run. Or a lot can simply be listed.
Bidding has guardrails. A seller can require a specific document — a GST certificate, a PAN card, a tripartite agreement — before a buyer is allowed to bid on a given lot at all, and winning bids can be routed through up to three levels of approval before they are accepted.
